The Vision Manifests  – Spirit of Faith Christian Center

Spirit of Faith Christian Center was founded by Dr. Michael A. Freeman in October 1993. For the first three and a half years of the ministry, services were held in Washington, D.C. in the auditorium of Anacostia High School. Following God ’s mandate for his life and the ministry, Dr. Freeman sought God for a place to house the vision that God gave him for Spirit of Faith Christian Center. With a strong witness from God, he led the congregation to the abandoned storefront  property formerly known as Oxon Run Plaza. When Dr. Freeman first approached the previous owner regarding the purchase of the property, the owner laughed because of the ministry’s “natural” financial status. Unmoved by the disbelief of the owner, Dr. Freeman released his faith and stood on Ezekiel 36:33-36 in fulfillment of the vision. Dr. Freeman firmly believes that a response of “no” today does not mean “no” tomorrow.

Dr. Freeman’s vision includes teaching and developing in each partner the Bible kind of faith so that, as the partners grow, they will in turn teach others to have the same “spirit of faith.” The vision also includes building “Faith City”, a recreational facility, a battered woman’s home, a facility for senior citizens, and much more. Dr. Freeman’s plans are to provide a spiritual, social, and economic structure to the Washington Metropolitan Area and throughout the nation, so that the needs of the spirit, soul, and body are met. Dr. Freeman believes and teaches that every partner plays an important role in bringing forth the goals to fulfill the vision for the ministry.
